New hobby project - DIY speakers

MrHorspwer, One of my favorite hobbies. I've designed and upgraded a lot of quality speaker systems over the years, from custom setups to tweaking some very expensive Thiels (if you can believe that, and Jim Thiel did not cut corners), and everything in between. It's half science and half...

    Chevy 5.3 Plug wires

AC Delco all the way on a 5.3, plugs and wires. With the coils on the covers, you should be able to get 100K + out a set of wires. I'll be doing the plugs sooner than GM says, as they do slowly loose efficiency before they become a problem.

    Cars that aren't started frequently

I have two of such cars. At the height of off-season, they can sit as long as a month between runs. If it's not long term storage (6+ mos), leave the batteries in, and setup a Ctek tender with a wired in monitor quick plug. Pulling and reinstalling batteries is a lot of unnecessary work, and...

    minor rear end accident advice

Check with Audi. If the bumpers come pre-painted (like they do with Volvos), then you do NOT want a spray repair, you want a new factory bumper fascia. The factory coating on a pre-coated bumper is almost a gel coat and extremely impact and scuff resilient. Any spray repair will flake off on...

Just for fun / Best sounding car you ever owned

My favorite sounding/feeling engines had props attached to them. Yup, you can feel the power rumble, almost like a subwoofer. Right now, I do enjoy the sound of the oval sport exhaust in our Volvo R. Best stocker was a big block Ford 429, or Mopar 440, both from the '60s. Duals, of course.

    Mann ML1003 filter torn media

Best to rename this thread. The only thing Mann about that filter is the name on the can. That's a Purolator. I was momentarily interested, thinking it was a real Mann filter.

    WAWA gas sucks!

As you may tell from my location, Wawa started out here. While I hated when they moved from the corner dairy store to the mega-gas station model, their gas stations here are extraordinarily busy. Wawa gas spends very little time in the ground. Most of our gassers run best on 93 octane, or I'd...
