Fell for the Old Used Oil in the New Jug....

They got me once. Guy at Autozone returned it and gave me a new one but it was a good thing I had oil at home to change into my truck or I would have had a problem. I always check the cap now when I buy oil.

Where middle class families may have eaten out at before TGIFs, Applebees, etc

I remember a couple of local places we would eat at occasionally. We usually ate at home. The places we had as kids were better than TGI Fridays and Applebee's. I almost always search out a family owned place before I'll go to a chain. Exception being Cracker Barrel. I like it there.

Anyone have experience with decibel meters?

About thirty years ago, Con Ed called us and asked if we were able to make a generator on their roof quieter. My dad bought a decibel meter and sent me in there. I don't remember all of the particulars but I got a reading on the machine as it was and measured all of the louvered openings on...

    Penetrating Oil Question

I don't remember where I was introduced to it but years ago I got a bottle of it. I had to do the 02 sensors in my truck. I got under the truck and applied Mouse Milk to the warm 02 sensors with a Q Tip. Watched it run right in. About thirty minutes later, I broke both sensors loose with a...

    Penetrating Oil Question

I have this one called Mouse Milk that IMO penetrates better than anything else I've tried. Stuff smells like lacquer thinner.

Most Dependable Mid - Size SUV ?

Not sure what size category the Chevy Traverse falls into but it's smaller than my Suburban. We bought a new Traverse in 2021. Car has been fantastic. I had one small issue with one of the headlights but I have it sorted now.

What are you eating right now?

I almost never go to McDonald's. A coworker and I decided to go try the Chicken Big Mac. Not only was it a huge hassle to order on a screen since there are no cashiers, This thing was ok at best. Probably be another five years before I darken another McDonald's doorway. Save your money.

    $500 for creaper?

Thirty years ago I bought one of those Snap On creepers. About five years ago I was using it and the wheels disintegrated. I removed the whole caster assembly and put them in a bag and gave them to my brother and said show these to the Snap on guy and let me know what I have to do. He gets...

2001 Silverado 1500 upgrade Radiator and add Transmission Cooler

I have an 09 Suburban with a 5.3. It also only had the trans cooler in the radiator. I was shopping trans coolers and told my trans guy because my transmission oil would get a burnt nasty smell after a while. He steered me toward the GM cooler. It's pretty tiny. I was skeptical. He assured...

    Tube woes

Maybe get a 16" tube for a kid's bike? Also, when putting air into a tube without being inside a tire, only add enough air give it some shape. Otherwise, it's going to get big fast. Then you'll never get it in. I really only use tubes anymore to do split tubeless on fat bike tires. That's...
