If your vin and mileage isn't printed on the receipt how is that any better than a notebook? If it is just oil receipts how do they know what you did with that oil?

I believe the factory battery would have been Autolite.

OK just curious which route you went. I was thinking that those reusable gaskets are normally pretty thick. I have never used rtv on a pan that didn't originally come that way. We have a specific Mopar rtv for transmissions and I use it like you did.

I don't know what caused the failure. I don't know what the miles were either. Most likely it had been in service for 6 months at least. I know it didn't help that he limped it back to the shop until it just wouldn't go anymore.

I wouldn'y worry about the microns, just stick a generic inline filter like Oldtom linked. I like the clear ones so you can visually inspect them.

927 is a real thick oil, I have never used any other bean oil to compare it too. Are they all real thick? 172 cSt @ 40°C I guess that makes it about SAE 50.

The only place where I had to lock my toolbox was a government job. The only other time I have seen someone lock their toolbox, they were going on vacation. I don't know about anywhere else, but people just don't lock their toolboxes here.
