    Are KYB struts dependable?

    My 1996 Avalon will eventually need a strut job. My mechanic says that $1100.00 will be the cost installed for all four wheels. I know KYB has been accused of price fixing in the past, but what is their reputation for quality? The old ones have gone about 140,000 miles.

    I had in my car one quart of Rislone, two quarts of PYB 40 weight, and three of O'Reilley 5W-30 dino. It used an STP E-Core filter. I ran it for 7500 miles and just replaced it with PYB 10W-30 dino with a MicroGard MGL3600 filter. I will run it for 7500 miles as well.
