What are you doing right now?

I was thinking the same thing. Perfect time, depending on their attributes, to go back to school, get an apprenticeship, or begin a career with skills they may already possess. Start retirement savings now (interest & time are your friends here). Good jobs/careers are out there. You just need...

What are you doing right now?

During a widespread blackout that cell phone will be useless. Landlines have reliability on their side. I also prefer to go to an actual checker at the grocery or hardware store. Keeps people employed Technology is all well & good but I’ve seen first hand the degradation of results when...

What are you doing right now?

Well looks like not going back on nights until the 25th is no longer a true statement. Another senior is stuck in India & not able to make it back in time for his shifts. Not official yet but looking at the schedule, I'm the only one available to cover for this coming Friday & Saturday night...

    Floor Jansen

Pretty much this. The band wasn't bad the bit I listened to but I have a hard time listening to female vocals for very long. Not a fan of live music(prefer studio recordings) or metal(most anyways) either so I'll leave it at that. Variety is what keeps things interesting though.

What are you doing right now?

Working 12hr ot dayshift. Only really dealt with one line trip so far. CAISO seems to have prepared for the eclipse well as it was a big nothing-burger for the PV ramps. Shoot, the daily duck curve evening ramp is steeper than what we just did...

End of life of electronic devices

Bought a Yamaha AVR to replace my old B&K AVR507 that finally crapped out in the preamp section last year. When I was connecting it I noticed something funny. It was supposed to be a 100x7 receiver with Class AB amplification (usually 50-65% efficient). Yet total power consumption was only...

    Wind Turbine Oil Leaks

I'm not sure how much stays inside the unit. They did say that the droplets create a "mist" that does cover the ground. I never understood how they were allowed to spill so much oil. At either the combustion or steam turbine facilities I used to work at, that would have been reportable. Then...

    Wind Turbine Oil Leaks

Worked with a few former wind turbine guys that transitioned into transmission operations. All stated the gearboxes will leak up to 25 gallons/day per unit. Not an uncommon occurrence.

I don't believe you'll be disappointed with the Amsoil SS. Even though I haven't run it in several years, I ran the SS in a Mazdaspeed6 2.3T & Ford 2.0T DI engines with great results for several years. Different engines & vehicles than your 3.5EB but still turbo DI Ford engines with similar...

frustrated about lifespan of common electronics

I recently had to replace my old B&K AVR507 as the preamp section failed & I couldn't find service support for the AV/Preamp section. Replaced with a Yamaha unit. The Yamaha doesn't even make rated power & lacks the dynamics of the B&K. It does support 4K passthrough & has a better DSP for room...

    Charging Efficiency

I've never experienced that issue with the rear stab connections failing but it makes sense. Then again 2 of my 3 houses have received "down to the studs" remodels & the 3rd had an obligatory replacement of ancillaries (including all outlets). I did find one of the outlets with an overtightened...
