Wife returned $500 to the bank today

A company that we buy product from forgot to withdraw about $400.00 from our account. When I alerted them to this fact, they withdrew the funds but never even acknowledged my honesty with even a simple "thank you". I know I did the right thing and I would do it again but I was still aggravated...

    Ross Chastain

The only way it could have been better is if it were for the win. Still though, an unbelievable move. I've been watching racing a long time and I've never seen that before! However, NASCAR is gonna have that move outlawed by today probably so we'll never see it again except on the highlight replays.

Best 0w20 for Mazda 2.5 non turbo GDI

Try Castrol GTX Full Synthetic 0W-20. I'm running this for the first time and I do notice just how smooth my car feels at cruising speed. I never noticed any difference before with a variety of Pennzoil Platinum, Castrol Edge, Mobil 1. I'm sold on this product.

Kyle Busch in INDY 500 ?

He knows those Indy cars don't have fenders on 'em, right?

Anyone running the new GTX Synthetic?

I'm currently using the 0W-20 version in my CR-V. Only a little over 1100 miles on it so far but the car feels nice and smooth so I would definitely use it again. The only difference I've ever noticed is consumption from one brand to another with Pennzoil Platinum being the worst. My decision to...

    cars with high mileage

275,390 on my 2008 Honda CR-V. Bought it in 2011 with 52,000 on the odometer. I've put in mostly Pennzoil Platinum 5W-20 but right now it has the new Castrol GTX Full Synthetic 0W-20 in it. I usually go no more than a 5000 OCI with Fram or Wix filters. Been a great car. With the current prices...

Do you use a reminder sticker when you do your own oil change?

You're right about Mobil. Same result here; hat, stickers, tool box decals and a signed letter thanking me for my interest. Valvoline also sent some oil change stickers and tool box decals but no hat. I had also requested some from Castrol. They emailed me back and said they don't do that so try...

Fake dual exhaust--does anyone know where that came from?

Don't we also have "fake" exhaust sound available in certain vehicles to go along with the fake tips?

    Rear View Mirror Issue

I had the same issue to the point where I gave up after 2 failed attempts and just bought a replacement mirror that attached with a sticky suction cup. It was OK for a while but it didn't have the switch to deflect glare from highbeams behind me. So, I reattached the metal pad back to my...

    Humorous OCI situation

I'm wondering what it is costing to insure a car that gets driven an average of 350 miles a year and is it worth it?

    Now you tell me:)

    CRV's, are they that good?

Mine is an '08. 270,500 miles and going strong. I maintain it with 5000 mile oil changes. Keep the air and cabin filters up to date. Change tranny fluid and other fluids once in a while when I'm feeling limber. Had to replace some lock actuators and window switches but really nothing else. I...

    Went to Mavis for tires!

I hope they're not afraid of Mavis! The only appeal of Mavis, at least to me, is that they have Sunday hours. ETD and a few more local tire shops are all closed Sunday and have limited Saturday hours.

    Went to Mavis for tires!

Made a 12 pm Saturday appt at a local Mavis for two tires. When I got there he told me they would call when it's done. I asked what time would that be? About 5 pm was the reply. I had to ask exactly what purpose does an appointment serve? No answer, just a blank stare. I couldn't wait and I...

About what year did coolant hoses get good?

About 10 years ago I brought a 2002 Honda to the dealer for a recall. While there I asked that they change the radiator hoses. He told me they don't recommend that service anymore. I was surprised that the hoses didn't need to be replaced and I was even more surprised that a dealer was honest...

Project Farm - Tests Pennzoil Motor Oil

What stood out to me was that Pennzoil really touts the extreme temperature performance of their natural gas based oils. In the video, the two crude based oils, Syn Blend and Black Label, both flowed/poured better than Platinum. Might very well be meaningless but it was somewhat startling. Maybe...

Project Farm - Tests Pennzoil Motor Oil

BITOG isn’t in the business of supporting Internet personalities or spreading misinformation. That may be a true statement but how do we know that any of the information that we gather from this forum, or any forum I guess, either in the written words or a video, has any validity. This forum is...

Sketchiest fix you've done to get home?

On a '72 Cougar, I broke the throttle cable return spring at the carb away from home. Attached a length of wire to the throttle linkage and ran it under the hood so I could control the "return" with my left hand. It was winter so even with a glove, I froze my hand pretty good.

Does using a public bathroom bother you?

Depends if I'm sitting or standing. Also depends on the acoustics of the bathroom and if I have shoes on that are easily identifiable once I leave the confines of the stall.
