I put synthetic in it. What a spectacularly bad idea. It runs MUCH better but uses a quart of oil every 100 miles. I went back to dino oil hoping for improvement. Woe is me.
After a ton of research, and testing in my engines, I settled on Amsoil 20-50. It improved performance and mileage on my motorcycles, and I run it exclusively. Yeah it is sold only under railroad bridges by leprechauns, but from the second you put the stuff in, you can tell a difference. No I...
OK team, thanks for the input. This is what I did...scrounged the internet and found a local AMSOIL distributor. No AMSOIL filters available, so got a WIX at the recommendation of the AMSOIL guy.
Put 20-50 AMSOIL in the engine and transmission. At first, no change.
Wow. 300 miles later it...
Hey Guys - Just bought a pair of Buell Ulysses, one has 1300 miles and one has 3100 miles. Neither has synthetics yet...would like to get both on Synthetics as soon as possible. Am leaning towards Amsoil 20-50 Synthetic....is that a good choice? Any other synthetics recommendations for Buells?
Dang, is it not Mobile-1? The oil changer guy didn't speak english. When I asked for Mobil synthetic he just grinned and spun around and left.
Hmmmmm....as soon as I find the motor, will let you know. There has to be an engine in there, because there's hella noise and the exhaust pipe leaks...
Dan, you question made me smile.....no clue what the factory spec is...no owners manual. Maybe the spec is on the door sill plate?
Just kidding....it's the naturally aspirated version, no turbines that I know of.....not even sure where the engine is...opened the hood, looked like a spare tire...
I recently purchased a used Toyota MR2 with 85000 miles on it. Its had at least 3 previous owners and I have no idea what oil they used. I put Mobile 1 10-30 synthetic in it......
Did I do the right thing by using synthetic?
Thanks a ton....... Wild Bill
