Donot trust the dipstick level in all cases. I have 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 CC with a 5.3L engine. I have owned several 5.3L's and I have always put in 6 quarts with a filter change just like the owners manual states. However, with this truck the dipstick reads full with only 5 quarts and...
In a closet located in my pouting room (TV room). I put it on the floor, I thought the temperture would be more constant there.
BTW, 66 quarts of Pennzoil Platium 5W-30 Plus 12 quarts of mobil 1 10W-30.
Have any of you noticed this? I bought a 2008 Checrolet Silverado 1500 with a 5.3L engine. The owners manual states the oil capacity is 6 quarts with a filter change. I just changed the oil and filter and after completion and running the engine for a leak check I checked to oil level only to...
Just bought a new 2008 chevy silverado crew cab on their employ discount plus $5000.00 rebate. The build date was 12/2007. It has only 58 miles on the clock. Question is, since the truck is about 10 months old should I change oil and filter now or wait until the oil life monitor says to change...
I have two Hyundai vehicles. A 2007 Azera with a 3.8L and a 2008 Santa Fe with a 3.3L. The oil filler caps say 5W-20. However, the owners manuals say you can use either 5W-20 or 5W-30. I use Pennzoil Platinum, and have a stash of the 5W-30. Do you members have any comments or suggestions about...

Where is your proof that PP causes sludge. I'm very interested in this, because I'm using PP 5W-30 now.
Thanks
The main problem in the south is yankees coming down here thinking it is different, finding out it is, then trying to change it.

Something else I noticed is, this filter is large compared to most of what you see today. It is a cartridge type filter. so, that may have something to do with the size.

I bought a filter today. Talk about a well made filter. All the spacing of the pleats are perfect. It's made in Korea.
It's the best looking filter I've seen in years. I haven't been able to find any spec's about how well it filters. If anyone here has any information I would appreciate you...
