I have gone 4 years now with zero issues from my 20057. I am still loving it as much as I did when I got it. I finally figured out that it only needed one pump of prime on a warm day and two on a cold day, and it will start on the first crank most times. Forget to prime it for the first start...

Semantics... It won't start without a power source of some sort, and it won't run for long without an alternator.
Most spark ignition powered vehicles will run without the battery connected, but doing so can result in electrical surges that are not good for the electrical items.
I run RLI in all of my equipment. I run it based on Terry's recommendation. I'm hard on my engines and run long OCIs, Terry knows that, and tells me that RLI is currently the best protection available.
I've known Terry for a long time, and from what I've seen of him, if running distilled water...
What I wound up with was Dupont Teflon Multi-Use Dry Wax Lube.
I applied it about a week ago and ridden about 750 miles since, getting the boots wet once.
They are still quiet. I am very happy.
Just FYI,
Every grass has an ideal height range to be cut at. There is no one size fits all. You should find out what grass you have and cut it at its ideal height.
My St Augustine in Houston really thrived on 4", and stayed greener and took less water than any lawn around mine. It had been...

Automatic choke. Used to be very common. Not sure why it went away. Seems like the little butterfly and spring would be cheaper than the primer assembly.
Thanks. I'll pick up a can. I think the Dupont Silicone w/Krytox Teflon would have worked, but I can't find it. Must have got lost in the move...
I think the product you mention will be even better.
No. It usually starts on the first easy crank. Always starts on the second. All it takes is a gentle tug. None of that yanking and pulling your arm out, UNLESS, you forgot to hit the primer button.
Without prime on the first cold start, it will never start. My fiance's dad found that one out...
The 20058 uses a B&S sidevalve engine. Taken care of, it will probably last 20+ years in typical lawn service.
I really struggled with the choice of the 57(OHV w/filter) or 58(electric start and blade clutch) at the time, but am happy with the 57. My fiance has zero trouble starting it and I...
While searching, I realized that I have a silicone & krytox teflon spray at home(I just remembered it as being silicone spray until I saw the can online). I'll have to try that.
California is a sports car and motorcycle paradise, especially the San Francisco Bay Area. I love it.
I work in a refienery, so there is little "kookiness" to deal with.
