I would have thought that you would check for soot, after reading Blackstone's comments (below) about not being able to do a particle count on "black oil". My test on them checking for soot was confusing and not conclusive on my modifications. I have those results posted as of yesterday.

I have revised the attached drawing and parts list to reflect modifications to use Ralph Wood's idea for the washer and lockring on my M100D Air Filter. See earlier post #15 dated Aug 29, 2024 where this is discussed.

Just to keep you guys in the loop, I bench filtered the next sample for about 120 hours and sent the unfiltered and filtered samples to Blackstone Labs today. I had decent printing of the Amazon Boardwalk Toilet Paper Roll both top and bottom post filtering.

The pumping action heats the oil. It took a couple of hours to stabilize at 175F, rising from ambient of 85F.
