I recently changed the fluid in my daughters Saturn and could not find T-IV or 3309 ANYWHERE. Every parts place & dealer in a 50 mile radius said just use Dexron. Finally ended up using Castrol Multi-Vehicle ATF and she said it shifts better than ever.

Well a week has gone by since the GREAT OILING took place and so far not a sign of a leak any where. Glad it isn't doing it anymore but I would sure like to know just what exactly did happen. I don't mind it so much IF I know what happened but I sure as heck hate NOT knowing why.

It is a given that the 4, 6 and 8 cyl engines do this but now the question is what do the 3 and 5 cyl engines do?

In thinking about doing a coolant bypass I have a small 3/8 hose that coolant heat to the throttle body, would this work for a bypass supply in parallel or would I have to much pressure drop? I had thought about series but have concerns about vehicle operation should it become plugged.

Been following this and since I don't understand all that I don't know, is there any real advantage using a hydraulic filter like the Northern Tool over a top line engine oil filter like an Amsoil or Mobil 1?

I know I could take two singles make a mounting plate and mount side by side but I think it would make a cleaner looking setup using a dual mount. Is there a dual filter mount that can be used for a bypass where one half could be used for the engine oil and the other end can be used for the transmission? This would be a great thing for vehicles with limited space or mounting locations.
