Change oil before winter storage with very low miles on oil?

A few miles on new oil to take the edge off? No. There is no edge. There is new oil that will never perform better than when it is fresh.

Change oil before winter storage with very low miles on oil?

Yes, but whether Rotella T4 is suitable is open to debate.

    Very slightly better than nothing.

    2015 Honda Civic 1.8L; 4.6k mi Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20

I think that your OCI time/mileage is your absolute best defense against fuel dilution. Nothing in this UOA would raise my eyebrow, and while I would personally spring for PUP, certainly take no issue with the excellent Pennzoil Platinum oil, especially on this interval. The fuel dilution is a...

    Castrol Edge 0w-30 LL-04 for 2021 BMW 330i B48 (EU)

I have the same car and use Liqui Moly 6600, which is LL17FE+, 0w20. For a while, it was difficult to source this spec, and it is still expensive. I think the Castrol Edge is fine, but the dealer mechanic told me the thin oil is preferred.

Mobil 1 or PUP in a 40 weight. Too easy.

2022 Ford Transit Connect - ST 0W-20 with Lubegard 5k mi

To know how impressive this is requires the size of the fleet and/or the retirement mileage of each vehicle… otherwise you are just adding more vehicles. Fleet maintenance is often excellent, but in the three cylinder, turboed, fuel diluting, low piston ring world we live in, I’m sticking with...

2022 Ford Transit Connect - ST 0W-20 with Lubegard 5k mi

I'm standing by 5,000 as the number. In fact, I think it was the 11th of the 10 commandments handed to Moses by God on the tablets.

This report is great, and the learning that I would take from it is the the 5,000 mile OCI is where you and everyone else should be.

5.0 liter v8 NA engine ran with 16 quarts of oil for 30 miles

URO is an absolute no-go zone. I have been burned a few times replacing window switches in one of my European cars. They fail instantly. On the Hondas and VW ‘s I work on, I would love to use the factory parts all the time, and feel guilty watching the Car Care Nut and TE Videos doing it...

    2007 Kawasaki Ninja 250R; HPL MC 10w-40 2.8k mi

I don’t think the power and torque are at issue, but most certainly the RPM is. My wager is that the small engine is much harder on oil.

    Dorman Oil Pan

I don't track with this sentiment at all. There is no insight to be had on Honda vehicles, which I have been buying since 1985, and driving hundreds of thousands of trouble-free miles. (on each vehicle!!!) Honda has changed the world with cars that are superbly reliable, quite easy to...

    Dorman Oil Pan

Maybe not "tiny," but the right amount. The Dorman pan grooves are not continuous, so you want to connect by running your bead on the inside of each bolt hole. This may be slightly improper, but I would probably draw circles (in Hondabond) around each bolt hole. Again, TE Videos on YouTube...

    Jeep painted over torx bolts

Just maybe you could use an electric soldering iron to keep heat on bolt and spare the paint. Would also consider extractor with long bar.

    BMW TPT 0w=20, 2.4k mi; 2024 BMW 230i B48

Oil is not worn out much by time or mileage. Its additives deplete and I gets dirty. That’s what typically requires replacement.
