    Clear hose or sight glass?

On my Volvo I dumped the bypass oil flow back into the valve cover beside the filler cap - with the engine idling, I can remove the cap and watch the flow - its mesmerizing! The Volvo's PCV system is different from mosst other cars in that it does not pull the gasses from the valve cover -...

    BEWARE BY-PASS filters ! !

Well Gary, when the FF filter is beyond half life, you then have almost double the restriction. The only way to know for whether your car/engine/oil pump are on that edge is when you have a failure....that makes sense. If there is only a 5% reduction in bypass flow without the restrictor...

    BEWARE BY-PASS filters ! !

From the " Bypass spin on filters (AMsoil?)" thread: **** in Falls Church Member Member # 41 posted October 07, 2003 09:11 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you look at an AMSOIL Dual Remote Bypass filter system, you will note the...

    BEWARE BY-PASS filters ! !

O.K., now I am getting a little paranoid....how about removing the valve from the Dual Remote filter head? I remember a post (way back when) that stated this will work, just with a lower rate of flow to the bypass filter - can anyone confirm this? Do you know what percentage flow you will get...

GC 0W-30 11300mi Toyota Land Cruiser 99 4.7l vs. Amsoil

I second that .....how can you make that statement when the GC had the benefit of make up oil where the Amsoil run did not? It also begs the question: Why did one quart of the GC burn off? In the Amsoil run there was no oil consumption.

Metrotech in Calgary - they have a good reputation. TooSlick - are you referring to the calcium in the new oil or the sample? For some reason, Metrotech maxes out with calcium at 2000, they always seem to report this way. I was surprised to see them report over 2000 for the new oil. Regarding...

It is a GLE. From the Motorcraft oil I presume. I have decided to go up a grade to 5W30. Yes, its high....I will get on that this weekend!

I am thinking that iron is slightly elevated due to the fact that it is a relatively new engine. (?)

Vehicle: 25,000 KM Oil: 15,000 KM No make-up oil added. Amsoil bypass filter installed. First column is this sample, second is new oil. I am thinking of running this out to 30,000 KM and re-sampling. Any thoughts?

    Mount ideas on my Neon?

I mounted mine on the inside of the front bumper in my 2005 Echo. I was able to complete the installation without removing the bumper using a right-angle drill and thread inserts. The goofy looking loop of hose from the Dual Remote was necessary to enable me to get my arm in to change the...
