Before I tossed my deceased 5 year old Pro-Logix PL2320 into the trash can, I opened it up for a look. The black box at top-center is a Sanyou 16A relay. I don't see any leaking capacitors.
8A x 14.4V = 115.2W. I don't see 115 watts being a problem for ring connectors. CTEK is missing out on selling an optional ring terminal cable for $45.
