To make it more simple, anything with 502 00 will do. Both of the oils listed would do fine. Trust me, once you start bouncing between oils it will give you a headache. Choose one, any with 502 00, and you will be fine.

I think that VW is going with the 5w-30 oils across the range for their new vehicles. I am sure that there will be exceptions, but the VW LongLife III (SLX III) should be the new oil for dealerships. I think they used to use Castrol Syntec 5w-40.

PETA members are for animals. I am sure that they would object to this oil, considering it is animal derived. ahahha I just thought it was an interesting find. As for performance, it will have to prove itself.

I say no problem with mixing. Even mixing Green and Gold should be ok. I personally wouldn't mix the US 0w-30 with anything, but that is just me.

From my understanding the ACEA specs are more specific and seem to be more involving, while API is not very specific.

Anybody have the testing procedures for the 504 oils? I would like to compare them to the 502 00 testing procedures to see what this oil must go through.

Actually the gold bottle says: Manufactured in the EU, while the Silver is: Made in Germany. My source had it wrong.

Thanks guys. I am not going to dig deeper into this. If I get the oil, I ll probably do the VOA and see how it is. If this oil can perform well to 10 000 miles I would certainly get it. I ll have to wait to use up my Mobl 1 stash and then see what I want to do.

Thanks for the update on the WIV. I didn't know how complicated it was. Here are some more pictures from the oil bottles. I might have to go and get some and send it out for VOAs. According to my source, the silver bottle is the old packaging. All new ones will be coming in the gold bottle.
