    Amsoil Synthetic Blend Engine Oils

Companies that sell a lot of oil to GM dealers and lube centers care about Dexos though. Pennzoil Gold came into existence when the Dexos requirement of a synthetic or syn-blend base stock was laid down. A product was needed that didn't force installers to take a jump in cost from dino oil to...

Got disappointing news from engine builder oil related

The builder had no revenue on your engine from parts markup. Many shops depend on this. Perhaps a build sheet would have been included if parts had been bought from him. Just a thought.

    Dealership oils

A few years ago, Quaker State had a marketing partnership with Hyundai. As far as I know, that partnership did not extend to Kia. QS had Hyundai specific point of sale materials for use in the service and parts departments. The dealerships to whom I sold oil had bulk tanks for QS 5W-20 in...

    Amsoil Synthetic Blend Engine Oils

It could be for the benefit of the installer market. To be considered for all of a lube center's/garage's/car dealer's oil business, offering a lower priced, Dexos-API-ILSAC product is a huge advantage. In my experience, many, if not most lube buyers want to purchase from one source.

    Pennzoil Platinum 0W-16(no ultra)

I wouldn't have expected a straight answer. When Shell took over Pennzoil 20 years ago, they discontinued many low volume products. Aircraft, motorcycle, 2-cycles, racing, most straight grades were all gone in a couple years. Low volume products in low volume lines haven't been offered by...

    Pennzoil Platinum 0W-16(no ultra)

It would be the lowest volume product in a low volume product line. Maybe someday the numbers will work and SOPUS will produce it.

    Wolf’s Head Oil

It was blended and packaged in Reno and Oil City PA. Pennzoil bought out Wolf's Head in the early-mid '60s, and ran it separately through WH's own distributor network into the '90s. Then, some PZL & WH sales and distribution operations were combined. Shell spun off Wolf's Head after buying out...

Ok to use fleet oil in all my vehicles?

Because even though it met the S rating, a few years ago, maybe when CK-4 was introduced, Shell made the decision to remove the dual rating because there are oils better suited than Rotella for gasoline applications. There was a quote from a Shell employee expressing that. I didn't save it...

    Engine Noise And Oil Brand

That's not it. Everyone knows that ever since Mobil stopped using ground up bits of gargoyle meat in their formulas engines using their oil are noisier than shaking a box of rocks.

Pennzoil Claims Formulation of Platinum Changed to Reflect New 15,000-mile Guarantee On Bottle

Shortly after Shell bought out Pennzoil-Quaker State Co., they internally announced the decision to position Quaker State below Pennzoil. Pennzoil would receive receive much more marketing support, and prices would reflect that. Before then they were more or less considered equals, holding the...

    235/60r15

Having used BFG T/As and Cooper Cobras in 215-70R14 on the same car, I prefer the Coopers. They were a smoother riding and quieter tire. From new, the BFGs didn't balance well, and were rough and noisy going down the road. Just my .02, YMMV.
