I have been using Pennzoil Ultra 5W-30 in my wifes Lexus V6 RX300. Now Walmart has decided to stop carrying it. A friend of mine working at the Dodge dealer says they have Pennzoil Ultra Euro L 5W-30. He says they use it in the Sprinter vans. Would that be as effective as the regular Ultra? I...
We have a 1999 Lexus RX300 we bought a couple of years ago with 92K miles on it. I remember looking at the dipstick with a significant amount of varnish on it. I have been running the Ultra in it for some time now. I am amazed everytime I do an oil change( Every 5K ) and see less varnish on the...

I think that they used that same motor in some of the Lexus RX300's.
I decided to compare the oil filter that is used on my old Ford Windstar to the Sienna filter.
Turns out......they are identical, except the Windstar...
One thing I have learned. I guess I cannot go by looking into the cap. Apparently that is normal due to the baffling system on the valve cover. Even the cleanest of engines will have that crud where you pour the oil in. I guess my only way of knowing is by the dipstick. Also c2po its all good :)
UPDATE: OIL HAS BEEN CHANGED WITH AUTO-RX. NEW PCV VALVE INSTALLED. MILEAGE:99520.
Let me tell you that the oil filter location is the worst I have ever changed out. The engineer who put it there should be shot! Well it's all been changed out. I will change out the oil filter around 100K. I...
If there is someone qualified in the Jacksonville, Florida area wants to pull the valve cover off, we can take some pictures. We could do before and after. Like I said, I am not a mechanic. The only way I thought we could tell is by looking at the dipstick. It has a lot of varnish on it and it...
Well this might be of some help for sw99 since he has an RX300 too. I hope to see the dipstick get cleaner along the way. Oh and I appreciate the spell check c2po. Just relax and enjoy the outcome.
c3po what are you talking about? I posted what I am up to over there first. Then I came over here and posted aswell. I even posted a link in my second post. When I was ordering, I noticed out of quensidence this product is out of my hometown and stated as much. Also I figured since I was going...
The varnish on the dipstick is rock hard. If you goto the Auto-Rx website and look in the forums, you will see all the pictures I posted. Can I post pitures on this site? I looked when I posted this thread and did not see a way too.
Here is the link: Auto-Rx website to my pictures.
Hi, I am new member here but have lurked from time to time. We purchased a 1999 Lexus RX300 with about 98K on it. I know the problems the Toyota V6 can have, so I was careful to find one with a good maintenance history. I figured I would be proactive with this engine and run some Auto-Rx in it...
