You have to buy TK7 direct, and in case quantities. A case is good for 500-1000 gallons of gas, so it's really a great deal. Its a superior product for the same price as the junk additives at the parts stores.
In my area, Fram, AC Delco, Purolator, Wix, and ST at Walmart are the dominant filters. There are probably a hundred or more brands out there. Anyone have a complete list?
Yeah it ticked me off when Wallyworld stopped stocking the AC Delco. I really like that filter, along with Purolators. Now I'm trying out ST and they seem to be OK as far as startup noise is concerned.
This is a great idea! Question: Are all types of filters for a given engine built the same basic way? For example, my 406 Chevy uses a AC Delco PF25(I dont use fram ). Would all other brands like ST, Wix, Purolator, etc. be designed the same?
Thats the 3rd post about the same recall. I have nothing against Coastal. In fact, thats all I use in my differentials, along with a dose of their limited slip additive.
At what mileage should a UOA be done? At oil change? At a certain mileage? I see guys doing it at very different intervals and was wondering which would give me the best overall indication of the condition of the motor. It only has around 5000 miles on it after my rebuild. Should I wait a little...
My Walmart only stocks 15W-40 Delo and Delvac oils. Walmart is the only place I buy oil. The auto parts stores are too high and most dont carry much if any diesel oils.
Well, I stocked up good on the Chevron Supreme 5W-30 Sunday. Now I have a question for you fellow oil gurus. Does Chevron market a synthetic blend oil? If so, where is my best bet to find it? I didn't notice it at Walmart, but they were low on their oil stock that day. I wouldn't mind paying...
The ST is a quality filter. I just bought several at Walmart today, along with 2 cases of Chevron Supreme The ST30 my small block takes does have METAL endcaps! Looks about the same inside as the Purolator I have been using for years.
So I assume there is no 30 weight types of diesel oil? I am a big fan of 30 weight oils. My oil pressure is already plenty high and I dont really want to go to a 40 weight oil.
For the price you can change it twice as often...piece of mind. I'm not a big fan of long drain intervals, regardless of oil. Thats just too long for stuff to run through the engine.
