Agreed. . . I've always been conservative with oil changes, even with OLM's, but this possible shortage may induce me to follow the OLM in the truck going forward. I've also backed it up with a recent baseline Blackstone test that indicated that the OLM was tracking appropriately for my use...

Considering the possible reduction in quality base oils, it may make more sense than ever to follow our OLMs if so equipped. I'd rather run a known good oil (that I have on hand) for a longer OCI than gambling on a sub-par oil.

You can't go wrong with an HK, or any recently designed pistol from one of the major manufacturers. It really boils down to the traits the are important to the person carrying it. You guys have clearly put thought into why you carry what you do. Many people don't.

That's a nice concealment package. . . I can see why they're so popular. The optic looks like it belongs there! . . .very low profile.

I believe that for the average person carrying concealed. . . smaller frames ARE better. . . if my CC becomes a conversation-starter, I'm probably not concealed enough :)

I'd seen headsets like that before, but none that showed that level of detail in a smallish form-factor. These seemed more directed at GA ops.

Statistically, and thankfully, the odds of actually being involved in a shooting incident are slim. . .even in law enforcement. It doesn't means we shouldn't be prepared, and the process of being prepared can be a really fun and rewarding hobby.

Correct. Context is important. I meant for general, defensive use by non-sworn civilians. The reason I ask is I see many people carrying very expensive weaponry with a lot of gadgets attached to them (not that there's anything wrong with that). There's nothing wrong with optics, flashlights...

I don't claim to know how a Hyundai oiling system works in detail, but I'm thinking that oil flows through the filter and into the engine sump (oil pan) before getting sucked up again through the pick-up screen. I guess it's possible that those bigger chunks that are showing on the magnet can't...
