There are always folks with 400-500,000 miles on one after a couple timing chains.
Generally a base 5 sp cobalt is more reliable than its boxy twin the HHR, I’m no fan of higher trims or the automatic xmsn on these cars as there is just more to break.
Same for sport and SS models, rarer more...
Maybe in 2015, rusted out ss’s sell for the same 50 cents of scrap as base. Only thing that may be better are seats.
Sort of like the guy who discovers his $1500 k car has a turbo ,thus is now $25000
If I could find an HHR like that but with a manual transmission I would definitely buy, I’ve been running my rusted out 2010 Cobalt into the ground and would replace with another
Looks like dealers are still smoking crack, trying to get the price it sold for new
He
vehicle prices outside the us are very high for wrecks which means many repros still just get branded and sent to foreign markets, that market is starting to slow as well.
If they are bailed to just pack farm fields full of new trucks we won’t see prices move much
I was having problems getting a motel Roku to display OTA TV (the only tv they had)
It didn’t want to go to the tuner
Agreed, new Walmart TVs are getting where they don’t want to do a thing without internet.
I watch tv where there is no internet or cable, feels like I will need to buy a...
EPA, crash, vehicle platform/vehicle footprint pollution laws are very lax the bigger you go.
A double bang of a perceived higher sales price but lower cost of production means they don’t want to make what the majority of Americans would actually want/afford.
Long ago Nearing the last financial crisis when fuel was also $4+ , housing wasn’t selling and Ford was dumping production into fields .
I bought a 40,000 mile ~5 year old Dodge Ram 1500 club cab v8 (not a base) for $5000
Your thinking AWD J-code with oversized tires that someone turned up the pump and retarded timing (these do require a simple timing occasionally or you loose 2-3 mpg)
C-code 2wds were difficult not to get 20mpg if you kept stock tire size and gear ratios.
First my father than I was required to...
Not really
It was a 2wd half ton
Got 21mpg pulling a little enclosed trailer
Got 21mpg in town in the winter
Got 21mpg on the highway
Had a slow c-code motor and stock 15” rims.
The other 2wd suburbans I had were different
The 93 gas was 20mpg highway but 13-15 city.
The 89 6.2 with a 5 speed...
When you were required to change transmission fluid every 30,000 miles you also had to change oil every 500-1000 miles.
Sounds like a garbage design if you have burned fluid every 30,000 miles
my 1982 Diesel suburban had 438,000 miles turbo 400 and had the transmission fluid changed every...
