I'm pretty sure this is backwards... the Motorcraft has a PureOne element with the construction of a Premium Plus.

Based on my reading through their marketing information one of their claims seems to be that the material caught by the magnet is material that the filter doesn't have to remove thereby extending the life of the filter and extending maintenance intervals.

What does everyone think of these things? I've recently realized that I'm missing the magnet in my trans pan and looked at these. While I was at it I looked at the oil filter magnet as well. http://www.filtermag.com/

I drive a '93 Ford 5.8L (351 cid) with a 6 lbs. supercharger and a '99 Nissan 3.0L V6. Both vehicles are lubricated with conventional motor oil. Both are driven in the Tampa, FL area. Both vehicles typically get exceedingly frequent oil changes and never, ever over 3K. Both owner's manuals...
