Poll: What do you think is the most "difficult" timing belt to service?

Toyota 3.0 V6 in my 91 p/u. My ASE mechanic buddy pulled up when I was doing it and said "I know Toyota technicians who pay people to change out their V6 timing belts"

    4l60e woes

I've heard of Corvette servos can extend the life of the 4L60e. Pretty cheap and easy project to try to tighten up the 2-3 shift.

Why Can't I use this Peak in, uh, Everything?

So what's the verdict on this Peak 10X stuff? Is it an actual "all makes, all models" if the previous coolant is properly flushed? Target has the concentrate for 11.99, perfect for my 5 vehicle fleet.

    Properly maintaining trailer lights

What's the trick to having reliable trailer lights? It always seems like I have to chase down a ground or something when I hook up a trailer. Is there anything to treat connections with to be more reliable? All of my trailers' lights are grounded through the bolt/mounting stud of the light...

0W-20 Oil Preference: Toyota / Lexus

I've used pretty much all of the brands bought in a store. I use whatever I can get on sale/rebate. Mobil 1 EP and AFE, PP, Idumitsu, QSUD, Supertech, and others. You can get to 300K+ and the engine wear from a 0w20 with a reasonable OCI will probably not be an issue for you.

    CrMo vs CrV impact sockets

Wow. That was fast. I ordered them last night and they just arrived. For the most part, they are what I expected. The fit and finish is good and I like that the sizes are etched and stamped. They seem to be on the shallow side of shallow, which is good. Even with a 1/2 to 3/8 reducer, they are...

    CrMo vs CrV impact sockets

I went with the Capri tools 3/8 SAE and metric. I'm donating him some Northern tool 1/2. The Capri are CrMo and it's nice they don't skip any sizes. Right around $30 per set. There's a bunch of good reviews on Youtube and they have lifetime warranty.

    CrMo vs CrV impact sockets

Not for professional use...these would just be for working on personal vehicles, tractor implements, trailers, ATVs, etc

    CrMo vs CrV impact sockets

My son is wanting to build his tool collection, and I wanted to get him a decent assortment of impact sockets. Some of the kits he showed me are Chrome Vanadium. I've never owned any, but the ones at HF seem to have really thin walls and just look like painted standard sockets. Should I just...

2004 CRV-Cannot get snap ring on new ball joint. Stock ball joint did not have one installed.

Excellent. This is why I am on BITOG! I'm trying to get things buttoned up before dark and didn't have time to search. Thanks so much

2004 CRV-Cannot get snap ring on new ball joint. Stock ball joint did not have one installed.

I put on a bunch of new suspension components on my CRV today, and I absolutely cannot press this ball joint in any further to get the snap ring groove exposed. As stated, the stock ball joint was only pressed, and didn't have a snap ring. I pressed it in with a ball joint press and an air...
