nah, on these filters (at least the older styles u showed) the filter pleats could rip open before the can does😟. I've had an old mann-hummel made Mobil 1 filter pleats ripped with less than 3000 miles. What's even worse is the excessive glue pieces they use would also come off and float inside...

It's around $12, depending on applications. It's cheaper than the Carquest EP but looks very similar.

The exact name was STP Maximum Life. I think now (or since the previous version), it's called maximum performance. I'll change the title to avoid confusion.

IMO, the synthetic media itself would offer many benefits. They typically flow better under the same rating, and trap dirt better (they hold dirt inside the media, instead of just surface loading and falling to the bottom, which could bypass the filtration in a bypass event. I've also sent a follow-up email earlier, and they replied with the same stuff as what you've received. I guess the BP's sticker is legit, maybe they are not ready to announce yet...

The station was built last year, IIRC. But the stickers were put on probably last month. BP website says their fuel "exceeds" TopTier requirements. I guess we'll wait and see.
