My owners manual says to use ACEA C2/C3/C5 which i plan to use on my 3000 miles change oil. What will happen if i use API CH-4 diesel oil during my 100/500/1000 miles change oil only? Do i need to use ACEA even on my 100/500/1000 mile change?

May i ask something about approvals. On the image below, does it mean that the 5w30 also has a manufacturer approval for MB229.51 or is the manufacturer approvals only for VW 504 and 507? Thanks.

oh so for you just get what's cheaper from both? edit: i checked the prices again and its just $1 difference from the C3 W30 and W40 C3 - Amsoil European 5w30 ($USD16/quart) C3 - Amsoil European 5w-40 ($USD15/quart)

got it. so w30 if for short trips only and w40 if for long highway driving

yeah, i like to protection that w40 gives but i'm a bit concerned on its high NOACK value of 10% as against w30's 7%.

May i know why you chose the 5W-40 given the values below? Isn't it that 5w30 should be more favorable as it has a lower NOACK? Thanks.

Wow, I just checked the price of Mobil 1 ESP in amazon and it's only $USD 8.8/quart while Amsoil European cost $USD16/quart. Here in the Philippines the price is roughly the same as the amsoil.
