You're forgetting one very important thing... Oem has an interest in you buying a new car from them. They prefer sooner rather than later.

I don't want to change it often, because it's inconvenient. So my interval is 7500 miles. Also I want the engine to last until 400k miles. So for me it probably matters more than someone who changes oil often and then gets a new vehicle every 5 years. I keep work mobiles for 12 years.

Which is super easy on the hybrids. You get all the fluid just by draining it. Like a differential or a transfer case. Very little gets left behind unlike some other fluid services.

Now when you say "warmed up" does that mean all the way to operating temperature, before being driven? So we assume the thermostat would have opened at least once for cooling, before someone drives it.

That must not be the one that is notorious for burning oil. There's some kia that doesn't have a good reputation at all, but I forget which ones specifically. But iirc there was one where they said some oil burning was going to happen even when new. And it wasn't a percentage you wanted to see.
