    2008 Acura TL-S, 3.5L V6, 5W-20 whatever Midas uses, 4,547 miles

Well while I'm on a roll, let me ask another question about my pick-up truck. I put about 2,500 miles a year on it since I use it just to haul stuff. I was thinking of doing annual oil changes, and then replacing the filter (Fram Ultra) every two years. But that means I just get about 6K miles...

    2008 Acura TL-S, 3.5L V6, 5W-20 whatever Midas uses, 4,547 miles

This is awesome feedback. And looking at the threads about using this Fram Ultra filter for 2 OCIs, I think I'll just run down to 15% on the maintenance minder and empty then reinstall the filter and fill her up with fresh oil. Assuming < 10K miles between OCIs, the filter should hold up fine...

Sorry it looks like I included a link instead of the direct report from Blackstone...trying again.

    2008 Acura TL-S, 3.5L V6, 5W-20 whatever Midas uses, 4,547 miles

I've always got an oil change every 5,000 miles, but I changed mine myself this time due some screw-ups when the last place didn't tell me there was a gaping hole in the air filter cover. (They checked the filter, which I didn't ask them to do nor want them to do.) And I had read some negative...

OCIs and FCIs for infrequently-driven vehicle

I'm putting about 2,500 to 3,000 miles a year on my 4 cylinder Nissan Frontier. It's not my daily driver. It has 15K miles on it so far. I've decided to take control here and will start doing my own oil changes, and am looking for some advice. In my zeal, I have already bought the oil and filter...

Fram Extra Guard now rated to 10k miles

No. I've always been doing 5K just out of habit at the local tire place, but decided, after I've had the car for 110,000 miles, to start doing my own. I had just changed the oil at 5K when I started thinking about all this. The computer said it was at 40% at 5K, so I figure I should be able to...

Compatability of Subaru OEM filter with 2008 Acura TL-S

I just bought several Subaru filters (part # 15208AA15A), and I just discovered from the FRAM website that the same FRAM filter is suggested for both my Acura and my Subaru Ascent. It seems reasonable to me that I can therefore use the Subaru filters I already have in the Acura as well. Is that...

Fram Extra Guard now rated to 10k miles

I just got one from Walmart with the sure-grip feature, but it doesn't have the new packaging claiming up to 10K protection, so I am wondering if I have the filter that can go longer, or if mine is an older version and not designed to go 10K. Any idea about that?

Mobil 1 EP vs high efficiency filters - does it matter?

And I did see in the owner's manual that Acura (Honda) suggests changing the filter every 15,000 miles so I have to assume the Mobil 1 will go that far as well.

Mobil 1 EP vs high efficiency filters - does it matter?

Thanks for the feedback so far. The car is a 2003 Acura TL with 18,000 miles. So the filter's an M1-104.

Mobil 1 EP vs high efficiency filters - does it matter?

Hi, I am new here (not that anyone really cares) but I do have a question. I would like to run 10,000 mile OCIs and I bought Mobil 1 EP oil. I do have a few of the Mobil high efficiency filters and was wondering if with such a long interval I need the EP filter as well? Just hate to waste the...
