If you end up wanting to drop the pan, I’d hit the bolts with Kroil before even attempting it. Let it soak for a couple days too imo. IF you end up dropping your pan, post what you see.
My comment was moreso to reinforce the overall build quality demonstrated here which should be the standard of the industry overall versus the trash being peddled by non-PG owned labels currently.
To further your point, it seems the cycling of the spring is what causes fatigue - not remaining...
Please forgive the two or three metal flakes I made from the hacksaw of cutting the media off. The bypass valve spring was still pushing hard on the little black plastic piece. Quality filter best I can tell.
I've had good results with whatever XPEL's top of the line infrared ceramic films are called. I paid good money for them to be installed on several high glass surface area cars (SUV's/vans) and would do so again. You don't have to have dark tint to mitigate heat, but it helps. What is super...
There’s a long/slender gray funnel I’ve got that works great for these 3.5 Honda J series engines. I’ll try to find a link, but you’ll know it when you see it. No need for a two filter setup like you had to improvise. Yikes about what you pulled off. Nice job on the oil/filter.

EDIT: I mean run the coolant volume changes enough to where...

Here’s one off a 2026 odyssey with 4400ish miles on it. I was peer pressured here by someone (can’t remember who) to buy a filter cutter. I did. Pics below. Media currently drying out. Filter magnets doing their thing quite nicely!
