    This is Sad

This is why I got a non-raptor 11 6.2L F150. They are pretty much indestructible, but a rare as hens teeth option. Still the standard engine on a Superduty. Trucks with that are usually absolutely fully loaded. The Ford place that state inspected it said they would be out of business if they...

    Scratched Transmission Pan Flange

This trans is supposed to go on dry. I guess I can fill the divots.

    Scratched Transmission Pan Flange

Bought one of those Dorman painted drain pans for a 6R80. I was so disappointed when I pulled it out and saw two scratches on the flange in the paint that cross the gasket. Looks like an = sign. You can catch your fingernail, may be a bit deeper than paint, maybe just the paint, hard to tell...

Nail polish smell coming from a/c

My F150 smells like "band aids" from the A/C. Likely an evaporator (tons of complaints).

    Leaky 6R80

This is a 6.2L truck, my neighbor has an ecoboost, we changed the leaky pump. And the timing chain too . I plan on changing fluid, filter, and gasket. And like I wrote above, a new pan too, with a drain plug. I will try to investigate where the bellhousing leak is coming from. I also have...

Can a Californian register this car?

I know in NY there are exceptions. A car over 7500 miles don't matter. Also, if your car is disabled out of state, and you buy a new car, it is ok. I think it has to do more with the calibration in the PCM. CA emissions cars meet a higher bar for pollutants. A CEL may set for example with a...

    Leaky 6R80

I don't have that TSB problem. Mine is an 11 and dry. Does the dipstick plug have a gasket? No scan tool needed. The F150 proudly advertises trans temp on the dash, both analog and digital! There is a "gauges" screen, only one PID - Trans Temp :(. Like it is teasing you.

    Leaky 6R80

Well the title says it all. Serviced about 70K miles ago at a dealer according to records. How can I prevent this from happening? Locktite? I assumed the dealer torqued it right. Also - I bought a new gasket, but my neighbor said they are reusable. Then he saw the leak and said maybe not. What...

Worth to rebuild an old opposed twin?

No, it has a rectangular cover that you can remove and look in the engine.

Worth to rebuild an old opposed twin?

Says commercial cast iron sleeve. I admit I got careless checking the oil. I kinda figured it is old and ready to go any day. My neighbor is an old mechanic, he said they never blow with good oil. He saw the damage inside, he said it may be salvageable, 50/50. Probably going to tear it down...

Worth to rebuild an old opposed twin?

I have one of those 46 series opposed Briggs, about 20 years old. It ran well (bit of smoke on startup) until it threw a rod (spun top bearing). Both rods broken. Maybe I didn't check the oil, maybe just 20 years of use and it had it. There are very few parts available. Crankshaft has some...

Have Speedperks and discounts - best gear oil at Advance?

Seems to work for gear oil. It is kinda overpriced. It does not work on brake parts.

Any long term Ford 6.2L peeps?

I coast it a lot. Seems it has a lot of inertia to coast.

Any long term Ford 6.2L peeps?

I love the truck but wish the mileage could be a bit better. It is an F150 Platinum. Need it for a business purpose for now. Today I tested it in mostly city stop and go, I am in the low 13mpg range. I was Very easy on the gas. I am going to run that FI canister with 50/50 seafoam and gas next...
