The tolerances are not much different than in the 1950's. A tolerance is a plus or minus from the Nominal dimension.

Never use red loctite on anything threaded that is coming apart again. That is what the Orange is for. Red is considered permanent.

In this case edm won't do anything special a drill and boring end mill can't do.

A been there done that. Never use JB Weld under a paint job you care about. I think it has metal in it and can cause a small bit of corrosion. I used it on a motor cycle fairing and it blistered after a few months. Any holes in the body, its no big deal to weld a small patch in the holes but...
