Hi Guys, I finaly did an ATF sump drain and refill with Dia Queen SP111 on my Hyundai Trajet. The old ATF was black and the drain was 5 1/2 litres out of 8 1/2 litre capacity. Maybe the tranny was over full as it took 4 1/2 litres to fill to correct level. I have since done +- 1000 kms and color...
Thanks. Thats a new one on me as I have always been told to change oil when hot so its thinner and drains quicker thereby removing any sludge in the pan. Each to his own.
Thanks. I was hoping to do the change with the least amount of mixing old and new fluid. I was told the correct way to do it was to disconnect the return pipe to the transmission run the engine until old fluid is out and then refill. With my luck something will go wrong so want to do it as...
Yes I always check oil levels after being at the agents, don't really trust them with things like that. I suppose its best just to measure what comes out and replace exact same amount and check again after running till hot. Thanks
I need to do a sump drain and refill on my Hyundai Trajet automatic transmission box. I know a lot of ATF is held up in the t/converter and will not drain out simply by doing a sump drain. The box contains 8 1/2 litres of fluid.
Questions;
(1) Approx. how much fluid will drain out by draining...
In a previous post it was mentioned that the PRND switch is also a common problem on the Trajet. Sometimes in morning I engage D the light does not come on and gear does not engage at all. I engage 2 and the gearbox engages but will not move into 3rd gear. After I have driven a few kms slowly in...
Thanks for all the input. So far the only ATF that I could find in Johannesburg to meet the SP 111 requirements is the DiaQueen from Mitsubishi. So guess I will just go with it. Even Hyundai dont have SP111 they use Transmax Z.
Can anybody tell me if Diamond SP 111 and diaQueen SP 111 are interchangeable. My Hyundai specifies Diamond SP 111 but I can only source diaQueen SP 111.
Pveenen, great to find another South African to talk to. I got the same quote from my dealership and refuse to pay R250 per litre for Castrol Transmax Z which is not I am told an SP 111 equivalent. I have phoned around and found that Mitsubishi sell diaQueen SP 111 ATF in 4 litre tins for R270...
Success at last. After a month of pro9blems the problem has gone away. The TPS was replaced by Hyundai all other sensors checked and terminals cleaned and all seems great. Thanks to all for the advice.
I now want to do the oil change and dont want to use the Castrol Transmax Z agents want to...
Hi still the problem persists. They replaced the TPS sensor and after test driving the DTC still showed the TPS sensor with a fault plus a few others. After spending a week at the gearbox "Experts" with only a list of faults to be attended to by Hyundai, the vehicle was taken to Hyundai. After...
