I did a couple early during break-in period for my FL5, reason being GDI, 0w-20, and during that time was doing many short distance trips, so was curious about fuel dilution and viscosity.
UOA for first oil change on '25 GX550 at around 1300 miles, factory fill of 0w-20.
Report shows 'critical', thoughts on this? I'd assume being break-in oil, metals would be high.
In now is Mobil 1 ESP 0w-30 with MicroGuard Select filter.
This is me for the past few days. And knowing oil filters seem to be constantly changing.
I was originally planning to go with Pentius XL, until I saw it didn’t have a bypass valve. Then went on to understanding the purpose of this valve, only to learn how some leak. Then there’s the bypass...
Sample 1: (FF) Honda Engine Type 2.0 0W-20, Honda OEM filter
Sample 2: HPL PCMO 5w30 No VII, FRAM Synthetic Endurance
No track time, all stock, similar driving since purchase of vehicle (many short trips), located in MD so obviously sample 2 had more drives in colder weather.
IDK if the...
My understanding is the Honda 0w20 2.0 (made by Idemitsu?) would have high moly, not the other Honda synthetic oils.
@ac12 happen to know if in fact 2.0 was in the sump
I can see how this causes confusion, as the Honda Engine Type 2.0 oil is not available here in the US. So those that do get their oil changes at Honda dealers (in the US) are getting a different kind of oil, which isn't consistent across all dealers so can't say what's going in. I had...
Per title, this is for a '24 Civic Type R. Purchased the car just under 3 months ago, first oil change at 2,292 miles and sent a sample in for UOA. I sent the sample in as I was 1) curious to know the fuel dilution as I do many short trips and 2) just to see and share what the results are from...
