Switching from semi-syn to full syn at 75,000 kms

I have a 2013 GMC Terrain with a 2.4L DI motor with 75,000 kms on it. It's had all of it's oil changes to date done at the dealership. When I asked them what they used, they told me they are using Shell supplied semi-synthetic oil, which would be either Quaker State Enhanced Durability or...

Found two cases of PP 5W30 from 2007 - still OK?

While doing some cleaning in the basement this afternoon, I came across two cases of Pennzoil Platinum 5W30 that I bought back in the summer of 2007. Would this oil still be good? My new vehicle requires dexos1 certified oil, so even if this oil is still good, I don't know if I could safely...

    Anyone use a toaster oven?

In our area, our electricity recently switched over to time-of-use billing, which charges one of 3 rates based on the time of day you are using electricity. Of course, one of the peak periods just happens to be around supper hour (how convenient). So we recently purchased a large convection...

Bringing In Your Own Oil For Dealer To Change ?

I used to bring my own oil to the dealership for an oil change, but I didn't get much of a price break by bringing in my own oil. After that I started doing my own changes, but I am no longer able to, so now I go to a local lube place that charges half of what the dealer charges.

Canadians..think we'll actually get Ultra up here?

I've had great results with PP, and now that PP is Dexos approved, I personally have no need for Ultra. If Ultra was on sale at a great price I'd pick some up, but I wouldn't pay full price for it.

    GM OLM and UOA's

Hopefully these images aren't too big. Castrol Syntec 13,042 kms, OLM at 16% (Spring/Summer/early fall driving) Pennzoil Platinum 10,959 kms, OLM at OLM at 5% (Late fall & Winter driving)

    GM OLM and UOA's

I can give you two UOA's for an OLM equipped 2.4L VVT Ecotec, but they were with Syntec and Pennzoil Platinum, not dino. I think the Syntec was down to 16%.
