2007 Chrysler Pacifica 4.0L, cooling fan runs constantly

Thanks for that info, after researching the fan modules on these late 00's Chryslers, they seem to be a common failure point that can either cause the fans to run continuously or not at all. I found a genuine Mopar part on Rockauto for $35, going to try that first.

2007 Chrysler Pacifica 4.0L, cooling fan runs constantly

Are there any modern cars (post 1990's?) that use a separate sensor for gauge input? I've not encountered any.

2007 Chrysler Pacifica 4.0L, cooling fan runs constantly

I have a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica 4.0L V6, about 195K miles. When I last went to drive it I noticed the cooling fan started running at startup and it doesn't stop until the car is shut off. This was on a cold start with no A/C. I can reproduce it at every startup. I plugged in my scan tool, I...

2007 Chrysler Pacifica coolant leak around timing cover - O-ring material questions

I should update this post in that I completed the repair, though it took much longer than I anticipated (mostly laziness, this being a spare car). Getting the REAR timing belt housing off was a bear-- while I appreciate there's no oil to deal with in a timing belt equipped engine, it was still...

Unusual multiple issues - 2006 Chrysler Pacifica

Try Royalty Auto Service in southern Georgia if you're in that area. Watching their Youtube videos, they have the tools to diagnose things correctly, especially something as simple as a 2006 Pacifica. Might be worth the drive, might not be worth the money either-- depends on the car's condition...

    DIY E-bike battery, BMS issue?

Yes, the BMS is the battery management system that protects lithium ion cells from overcharge / overcurrent / overdischarge, all the things that make them dangerous, but it also balances the parallel cell groups when charging. I figured the problem out, it was simply a bad BMS. I replaced it...

    DIY E-bike battery, BMS issue?

Wondering if anyone can help out with this. In the process of converting my son's 20" BMX bike to electric (FWD hub motor). The bike is done, but I'm running into issues with my battery pack. I built a 13S3P pack (all new 21700 cells, three in parallel, then the parallel groupings in series...

northern weather not appreciated in Alabama

I've lived south of the Louisville area in KY for almost 10 years now. As far as temps go, this has been the coldest winter here that I've experienced. We've had 4-6" of white crap (mix of ice/sleet/snow) on the ground for well over a week now. I'm bracing for my electric bill-- most...

Using Beet Juice on Roads in Winter

Not in Kentucky. You just dump more salt over the coming days until there's a 1:1(exaggerating) ratio of salt to water. I wish I was kidding. Now that the roads are covered in nothing but salt brine (no frozen precipitation to be found despite temps being low singles)-- about the time you...

Using Beet Juice on Roads in Winter

The city of Louisville (mayor especially, who likes the spotlight) was proud to present to the local media that this latest storm would be their first "hurrah" using beet juice combined with salt brine as a pre-treatment, along with some millions of dollars in new trucks / equipment. He made no...

    Tire Rack -- Be careful

I share this opinion. Tires are stored in a climate controlled warehouse, I doubt they aged a bit. I would be thrilled with the $70.. The DOT code is a legitimate concern though, I'm not sure why they would balk about correcting that error.

    Florida license plate frame law

That would be nice. Laws seem easier to pass when when it collects money (tolls) rather than in the name of safety.

Potential 2018 Tesla Model 3 Performance purchase

Fair points. The way I see it, The M3/Y are among the best selling cars in the world, including the US (don't know exact statistics). I'm not worried about parts availability. Tires? A few months after buying the car, I got a crack in one of the ridiculously sized 20" rims. To get the car...

2007 Chrysler Pacifica coolant leak around timing cover - O-ring material questions

Good advice! Will look up the torque specs for that back housing, it's what sandwiches the O-rings in place.
