    Mobil 1 10W30 - 4,979 miles - Toyota Matrix 1ZZ-FE

Bill, Five speed manual. Fuel economy average over 20,750.5 miles is 29.6 MPG. Short trips hammer the fuel economy plus my wife has a lead foot! Best tank to date has been 35.5 MPG on the interstate to Boston. You really rack up the miles fast! It took one year to hit 20K on the Matrix. No oil...

    Mobil 1 10W30 - 4,979 miles - Toyota Matrix 1ZZ-FE

I never did determine what caused the high fuel dilution on the factory fill interval. When the next interval came back at .5, I didn't even give it a second thought. Driving habits have changed since the first oil change, as the car is used mainly for short trips. How do you like your Corolla?

What is the best GM engine?

Only the first two years of Matrix production had a GM stereo. In 2005, Toyota went back to their own stereos. I know as my wife has an '05 Matrix. The car does have a Delphi battery in it. My only prior experience with a GM part in a Toyota was the Delco alternator that failed on our '91 Camry...

    Mobil 1 10W30 - 5,041 Miles - Toyta Matrix 1ZZ-FE

Thanks to all for the comments. This Matrix is a manual and thus far it's a great little car that is surprisingly fun to drive. The Toyotas do seem to like Mobil 1. I'm running the 10W30 in both my supercharged Camry and my '91 Toyota pickup with the 22R-E. The pickup is nearing the end of a 10K...

Remember when he advertised Grand Ams a number of years ago? Had the Borg assimilated a Grand Am their cubes would have had serious problems (at the very least chronic leaks on the warp injection manifolds) for sure. Now back to work... Engage!

[/qb] Probably had your timing chain cut through the timing cover into the water pump passage. Better write this name and number down just in case. L.C. Engineering (928) 505-2501 in Lake Havasu, Arizona. When was the last time you replaced the timing chain? Did you notice any screeching...
