I want to "T" off the oil pressure sender near the oil filter on my 03 V8 2UZ-FE 4Runner and a Toyota mechanic cautioned me saying that what I though was a 1/8" pipe thread was a special something or other pipe thread.

Any thoughts?

Compare 1/8NPT threads to an OEM sensor's threads in the Auto parts store?

Apparently Metric pipe threads do exist and are called DIN pipe threads.
Perhaps an Adapter is available.

Just noticed that you want to do a "T".

So you need to first thread something like this in:

Then use the adapter on one of those legs.

If you have the space... I'm assuming that you want to retain the OEM warning light and add a pressure gauge.

When I put a pressure gauge on my Scion xB, I tried to do it with the above, but I didn't have enough space for everything (at least with electrical senders). So I just used (without a T) the aftermarket (VDO) sender, which had both a gauge and warning light terminal.

Thought about this some more.
Maybe a braided high pressure hose from the engine to a distribution block on the firewall or fender well. Blocks are used for nitrous or fluid applications.
Found a couple pretty easy when googled.
A block of aluminum could be machined with the correct threads for your sender and NPT for the bypass feed.
