This is uoa of Motul Specific 506.01 0w30 after 15 072 km / 9 367 miles.
Tested in any conditions.
Winter: temperatures down to -16.6 F – city, highways, short (a couple of miles) trips in mountains during winter holidays.
Summer: temperatures up to 91 F: city, long country roundtrips, highways, including German highways with no speed limits on many of them.
I made quick wear comparison between oils I used. Because the mileage on oils was different I show two results: ‘as in’ and the second where I substracted the residual iron left after oil change.
I was expecting that 0w30 will give some benefits over 5w30 in terms of fuel consumption. Here are the results.
To make the comparison more precise I did also some calculations based on fuel consumption on the same kind of route, that is I included into calculations only 100%: highway, country or city rides between refueling.
