Zero40 Euro compared to zero 40

Mobil 1 0W-40 Euro FS burned a little in my car unlike Mobil 1 Extended Performance 10w30.
Kind of interesting that Castrol Euro a3/b4 0W-40 didn't burn any in the same car and it has the same European approvals as Mobil 1 FS 0W-40.
this was just one experimentation with 0W-40s so it probably does not mean much ...

If I had a car that recommended 40, I would try to find a good 10W or 15W at least for the summer. Kind of done with wide spread 0W-40s!
any "euro" material/equivalent 10 or 15w40s out there or they all have to be 0W to get the seal of approval?

I am observing the same behavior in my car with Mobil 1 0W-40 Euro FS and the Castrol 0W-40. Next up for testing is Pennzoil Platinum Euro 0W-40 to see how that will behave.

FWIW, PP Ultra 5w30 SN PLUS/SP did an excellent job in a Corvette:

Again FWIW, a used oil analysis with a Euro oil with all kinds of approvals—Mobil 1 ESP 0W-40—on a different Corvette. Despite the approvals and being thicker, it didn't do a better job:

This doesn't necessarily mean anything. However, my point is that a plethora of approvals and a higher viscosity does give you more assurance against something going wrong but does not necessarily result in a better oil performance.

But ESP version has 60hrs of track time, unlike that PUP used oil analysis.
As far as I know @dparm is obliterating his Vette on the track.
That used oil analysis in tracked Vette is prime example of why those oils are better.

What happened to OP? Sold it and bought Nissan Versa? 😂

Lots of good info here but maybe op was looking for "engine will survive, oil is oil" especially when talking about 2 good oils and one OCI.

If Amsoil was going to deviate from the standard response which is follow the factory recommendation ... surprised they didn't tell him to dump both and try Amsoil DOMINATOR 10w30 or 15W-50 Racing Oil ... at least for the summer.

Racing oils in street use are not the best solution.
