I have a cub cadet 54” zero turn. Left side make a loud whine noise when engaged. Transmission unit is sealed. Any ideas?

Look for evidence of oil leaking out. Get the transmission model number then you can find advice on checking / changing its oil, even on "sealed" units.

Follow the bleeding procedure. Make sure oil level is correct, disengage the drive lever, then move the directional control forward and back to the max at least 8-10 times each direction.

HPL cured the whine Amsoil induced in my hydrostats. However, the Amsoil came out clean as could be at 138 hours and there were no issues other than the whine. Even Dave isn’t really sure what would cause or quiet the whine, as I bled both gear oils in the same method.

whining in an HST often a sign of going over relief. Was operation out of the ordinary. Might not hurt to do a fluid change even though the system is sealed. I changed the fluid in my LT150 Tuff Torq K46. Out went OEM fluid and in went Castrol Edge synthetic 5w50.

Just my $0.02
