YZZD3 filter OK for 10K OCI?

I find that TCCN knows a lot except for when it comes to oil. Notice he makes no distinction between conv./synth. and he regularly recommends people use "Toyota oil" which is just a meaningless term.

Toyota sells their own oil (TGMO / Toyota Genuine Motor Oil). Available from the dealership parts department.

This is not the same oil as the dealership's "bulk" oil being used by their service department techs to service your car.

It depends on use of the engine as most here know. Car Care Nut was pretty emphatic dont do 10k and has long experience fixing Toyota engines. Has at least one video on this topic. Most people are in the severe service category especially where it’s cold and the trips are short. There is no one number fits all. Maybe if a person trades cars often and doesn’t care is another factor in pinching pennies.

It's extremely dealership dependent. The dealer near me use bulk TGMO, they even let me bring in my own 5 qt. jug to fill up instead of buying individual 1 qt. bottles.

6 quart case of 1 quart bottles is priced cheap enough for me - less than $3/quart when purchased on sale.

I actually greatly prefer the 1 quart bottles that TGMO comes in. Much more precise fill on that final partial quart that goes in.
