Ray is a hack. Doesn't properly torque most things and is very careless with components. Would not let him check the tire pressure in one of my vehicles.

Youtube car maintenance videos are great. After my wife's Civic was rear ended I had to replace the bumper cover (no damage underneath). Watch the video, easy as could be.
I remember a few years ago I started watching a video on how to do some little task. The guy jacked the car up and crawled under it. That was where I shut it off. Anyone that stupid has nothing to teach others.

Sadly, Richard and his kid had some kind of falling out. The kid went off on his own, and his channel is....meh, and Richard hasn't posted anything since.
I stay subscribed hoping he'll come back, so far nothing.
That explains why there hasn't been a upload in so long. Never woulda guessed that.

I agree but I don't think that's his intention. I don't think he knows he's doing it and honestly I imagine if I had a YT channel I'd address the audience in the same way.
I think he's just trying to explain things clearly and concisely while simultaneously bracing against the inevitable troll attacks on the internet. Not saying it's the best approach -- or even a GOOD approach -- merely that I (think) I understand it.
That said, all of the above is 100% speculation. AND in at least one or two vids he gets rather bragadocious about having "super cars" in his shop, especially when I didn't click on the vid to see him tell me how cool he is because there's a Ferrari parked behind him.
But he hates the 3V Fords so that pretty much makes him my buddy immediately
Car Wizard is, lately, too preachy about how he's the only honest shop around. And his undercar inspections are lame, I don't know how you can tell with 2 fingers that the ball joints are fine. Don't get him started on his trauma about staked u-joints. I fast forward the interior car portion with his wife - her nasal twang grates on my ears.
