What I noticed a lot of apps in the chrome os store don't function properly on Chromebooks but I can try reinstalling the brave app.

Google as most huge companies have little morals, as long as they are making money.

This is what I do, no ads.
I personally really enjoy YouTube, but only subscribe to channels that I enjoy, such as Murphy diesel, Matt's offroad, shoe on head, Christine grace smith, All terrain recovery, Sarahntuned, Trent Palmer, etc.

I had to report foreign language low grade pron that kept showing up as an add.
Oddly YouTube seems to crap on your account when you report bs.

I’ve been getting a lot of full AI content (not adds) playing if I allow the player to just automatically forward to the next video too many times.
Lots of low quality voice talks over still image nonsense contaminating YouTube
 
YT silenced me because of my views. I'm the only one that sees my comments and I caught that right away.
I never used foul language but I see it every day, no threats or attacks but just speaking my mind...
There are 1000s like me..

You can't even interact with them for a resolution.

You’re not alone, starting this year an immense number of individuals have found themselves sandboxed, even rather large monetized accounts causing financial impacts.

lots of anonymous complaints, dirty tricks and fake copyright trolls.

And it isn’t just YouTube/Facebook, lots of smaller/obsolete web services are randomly blocking people’s accounts “for security” while providing no mechanism to contact a person to determine if there is a solution.

For alphabet there are specific channels and specific individuals that if you ask nicely, they may help you behind the scenes, sucks that everything is cloak and dagger
And that anyone can ruin your day without reason or evidence.

The grumblings I’ve seen say this is in preparation of the so called “kids act” as it’s called in the USA, worldwide lots of .govs are have an equivalent of it , nothing like making a google search require an enhanced drivers license and biometrics for adults to view the weather.

The remaining small websites in existence will likely go away once this goes into effect as they cannot comply.

Use Brave Browser for watching YT (not the YT app). Brave has settings to specifically block ads, built in. Also, settings to block “Shorts” and “Distracting Content”. I use it on my Mac & iPhone.
 
watching youtube videos using duckduckgo browser no ads. :)

will have to try on the chromebook this is working on my dekstop.
 
Google searches are often suspect in that they often sell the top few search results to third party retailers and mislead consumers.
For example let’s say someone has Xfinity internet and TV and has a service issue. If they quickly google xfinity for the number to call the top search result may be xfinitydeals.com not xfinity.com. Never click on one unless the url looks right or says official site.
They have told a family member that they will send someone out to fix the issue and in reality they signed them up for internet and tv with another company.

Yep, shadow banned. Youtube has no problem with all the bots and AI these days. I’m getting tired of all the women creators dressing half naked for views. So you decide to do some wood working, and decide wearing a bikini is the best cloths for the job?
