How about the polls let anyone vote that shows up with a valid driver's license with an address in the precinct? Most states also issue ID cards to non drivers. What is likely a jury duty summons for my son set me thinking. He officially changed state of residence 5 years ago. My wife and I have told our officials he no longer lives here. He and his long gone sister are still both listed. His sister is even listed elsewhere in this same state and still not been removed. We have made it very easy to get on the voting rolls, and almost impossible to remove people. This not only makes our turn out look worse, but has clearly lead to fraud. People are relatively carefully of driver licenses, and the states control them fairly well. Arnold is going to fix the illegal alien problem. Legal aliens and other not entitled to vote could have their license coded. We could add the precinct as people renew.
We would need to keep a list of people that voted. No going from the voter booth right back to the end of the line. Such a list could be used for jury duty. It would also need to record parties in states that track them.
The dead could still vote until their driver's license expired, but not for the next 100 years.
I will have to talk to some of my visually impaired friends and see if they have the state non driver ID's.
