For years, I had used Yahoo.

But, I have given up on Yahoo long ago as an email address due to the extremely annoying format and the regular hackings of it. Now the home page is nothing but extra disgusting clickbait 'news' aimed at the type of woman you watches 'The View', and says OMG 35 times a day.

I really do not need to be angered each time I start my browser, or be reminded just how culturally acceptable Misandry now is.

What is your Home page?

I was hoping for some sort of Minimally Biased News/current events site. Not sure 'Minimally biased' and 'News' can even be spoken in the same sentence.

I do not do any social media other than forums like this, and I avoid religion, religiously.

I am in the same boat. I have had Yahoo has a homepage since the 90s. Fed up with the overly biased news and clickbait on there. I already stopped using their email for anything important.

When I start my Browser, it opens up the several dozen tabs I had open from the day before. Bitog is one of dozens. Whatever tab I was on last (sometimes Bitog) is the one that opens up immediately. In other words, the brower returns to my last browsing session. I never see any news or advertisements to start the day.

^Ditto.

I don't really have a home page. Using Chrome, it just opens up my last pages and I have several tabs which open up all the time, first is my email, then followed by several pages like the weather, my calendar and a few other sites.

In a futile attempt and protest against advertisement directed at me, I don't save cookies and run CCleaner each time I exit the browser.

I'd rather type in my Passwords each time, than see the product X I might have looked at the day before. I find that to be an offensive invasion of privacy.

Perhaps I should just quit the internet.

I have both Google Chrome and Firefox set to Google as a home page, but what I should do is make BITOG my home page on Firefox since I only use Firefox for forums.

I have always used a free, local major newspaper website. In my situation, being a half-hour north of Detroit, my homepage is either The Detroit News or Detroit Free Press.

Firefox opens to the simple Google home page.

Safari(which I don't use that much) still opens to its default, which is Apple's home page.

Both bring up a grid with thumbnails of most visited pages for a new tab.

Blank page. I also run CCleaner every time I exit my browser. Cookies in your browser do make things a bit more convenient, but they are like footprints and will eventually result in increased spam and targeted advertising.

I read my yahoo email mostly off my iPad, using its email client. So no ads. If I go onto a PC to read my yahoo email I just ignore all the crud ads.

I have felt the thought of late though: due to all the clickbait ads I'm tempted to curtail more of my random surfing. After a couple decades of being online it's no longer what it used to be, at least not to me. Gobs of useful stuff, but the effort to filter is starting to wear on me a bit.

Recently I took stock of some of the email I was getting from various reflectors, realized that my interests had changed, and unsubscribed from many of them. Much less inbox clutter, and (surprisingly) my spam box dropped also (surprising as it was all yahoogroups reflectors). Don't miss it, really.

Anyhow, only "homepage" I set a machine to is to go to google, as whenever I open a tab it's invariably because I need to go look something up.
