Watching the classic cars roll by in a parade today, I realized just how eclectic my taste in cars is. I've mentioned on here that I've been thinking about a '66 mustang to restomod. Watching Wheeler Dealers today I was thinking about the desire I've had to restore a 50's Pickup for several years. And there's___ and ____.

Here's my Auto Bucket List:

-just might have-

-probably won't ever be able to afford-
Merc 300SL gullwing
Lamborghini Miura

-would get if I found a great deal on one-

I've always wanted a

80s caprice "boxy"
beater convertible like a sebring or cavalier
90s vista crusier/ roadmaster wagon
aircooled VW
Yugo-- an 86 would take antique plates now.

I've satisfied my lust for
-- a diesel mercedes w123
-- a full size pickup
-- a cute 4x4 pickup
-- a volvo wagon
-- grand marquis/ crown vic

Sometime on my bucket list I'll buy a $500 car across country, or at least south of the mason-dixon line, and drive it home.
 
Any SL from the mid 'sixties through the mid 'eighties.
A 911 or 912.
Another Vanagon.
A Ferrari 308 GTB or GTS.

Realistically?
I want to get a good spec Miata car for lapping fun, then when I think I'm getting really good, double the HP with supercharger...

Sort of realistically, I wouldn't mind a 90's BMW 325 or 328 or M3 as a daily driver but its not overly practical for my driveway and commute.

Won the lottery? Ferrari 458 would be fun!

If I hadn't been so soured by owning a newer Merc I'd have thought about this. My uncle had a sixties model (don't know which one) that I thought was cool when I was a kid. Diesel might be fun to play with the whole bio-diesel thing. What's your experience been like? Think I remember you saying on another thread that it was slow.

Definitely reachable and an interesting list. Mom had the Mustang II and dated a girl once with a Gremlin. Got a few bug stories (though none of them interesting enough to tell).

Yeah it was slow. It was a fun excuse to speed down hills and whip around corners at the bottoms so I'd have inertia to get up the next one. The suspension set up was nice, lots of travel, and full of grace in the corners. (well devloped geometry.) MB tex bucket seats were fantastic. Car is a midsize, but not wide and slab sided like a chrysler 300. Nice open cockpit with lots of glass. Sunroof. Ample LENGTH for a comfy rear seat ride with room to stretch legs. Fuel tank between rear seat and trunk. (!) 34 MPG in the summer! Working on it was a pleasure too with bolts that didn't snap from rust, sweet for a 27 year old car. JHZR2 has a couple of these as well. It's one of those cars I've always wanted, and I guess I'd buy another too. Wanted an every day driver the wife could shuttle the kids around in, and she preferred not to drive it.

A few good Ferraris and Lamborghinis.
Some 1980s cars that are inspired by TRON and Knight Rider.

Not much else I can think of.
