...... the temps on the fridge freezer read "0" and "30" and you immediately think "German Castrol".

How do you know when you're spending too much time on oil?

You realize you've not visited BITOG enough when...

You haven't been around long enough to know there's been multiple threads on this.

And then you pull out a quart of it from the freezer to check how it's flowing.

I do this, as well as vehicle repairs!

Also, when you offer your home/tools to someone wanting to do their own oil change.

When you hungrily wait for the monthly auto parts store mailers for deals.

When you go to a gas station for a soda and check out their oil stock first.

When your wife says you spend too much time, "looking at that oil website."

When you browse the oil filter catalog at your auto parts store like you are looking at Playboy.

It's certainly been done before by BITOGers.

If you tell people you meet about the articles you read, and they think you have an engineering degree, you might be a BITOGer.

It irritates you to hear oil grades referred to as weights and even though the point is understood you feel the need to correct them.
You get angry when an oil filter is on tighter than half a turn
Freak out if there isn't a new crush washer on the drain bolt
You pay more attention to oil pressure and oil temp than you do speed.
You feel the need to "help" everyone in the oil aisle.
Bitog is a curse I tell ya.
