I have a 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe 4x4 5.7l v8

I have been cutting open filters for over 40K miles now and want to try another brand besides what i have already tried.

https://www.youtube.com/user/Arctic388/videos

you tell me what i should run and cut open.

I have already used Purolator classic, Pureone, AC Delco PF52, and i didn't run it but just cut open a Mobil 1 filter for a friend.

I guess i am going to stop using the Purolator brand since I have seen pleat issues lately and that bothers me. i was going to go back to using AC Delco but thats when the thought hit me to ask on here and see what you all thought i should run.

the run will be as close to 3K miles as i can get and will probably run Valvoline Maxlife 10W30

I would personally like to see what a Mann filter looks like...but I hear they are part of Purolater like Bosch so probably nothing new.

I am on my second Mann on our Impala. They are definitely Puro classics painted black.

Fram ToughGuard, as its got glass fibers blended in to the cellulose for extra efficiency and capacity, gets out more smaller particles. if not that, then NAPA Gold for same reason.

How about an Amsoil?

Some questions lately about who is making it. But only 3k would be a waste on that filter.

I think that Donald may have been using a little dry wit in this case.
These are rather expensive two stage spin-ons that claim to allow really long service life for the engine oil through improved filtering efficiency.
There have been a few threads on these filters on here.

There are some cheapies on RockAuto (names escape me) for under $2 - that would be neat.

I thought that at first and then when i seen the price i really thought that but watched a video on that filter and now it makes me want to do another z-max run and see how bad i can clog that thing up. i wouldn't be against running it just on cost alone. do you where i can find them for sale to get the correct one?

Non-Ecore delco. - the least problematic filter Ive rn on anything - including Toyota and chevys.
on the 5.7
With the filter below pan these don't need an ADBV?

Cheaper the better.

Use whatever you get for "free" in the next oil change deal or buy a Wix-built Microguard at O'Reilly's.

This should be the same as a NAPA Silver.

http://microgreenfilter.com gets out down to 3 microns or so. About $25 each, yet useful if you read the fleet usage results from around the country, how it reduces oil changes, or if you simply want less particles in your oil.
