YOKOHAMA Avid Ascend GT rises again ...

Current Potenza or previous versions. I had previous versions, and while stiff, like all Bridgestone tires, they were not excessively stiff. Current generation seems to push that envelope more than previous ones. I personally like a lot of feedback. I think it depends. On RAV4 there is more sidewall than on my BMW (225/40 R18) so it might be ok.
Mmm you’re making me think…. 2021 I think is the year I bought? That might be the previous generation? They /really/ complimented the wheel/tire combo I had, it was incredible, far better dynamics and stability than the stock arrangement while being far more comfortable with the smaller-than oem 17” wheels. On that car, in that configuration, one of my most favorite combos ever. They also held wet traction better as they aged, which is usually not a Bridgestone trait - most of mine get super hard, stop wearing, and stop gripping in the rain, leading me to replace them based on performance rather than tread depth.

Yes, that is the previous generation. It seems they were chasing with that generation what they really want to be, and then last year jumped with a new product that seems to have excellent feedback, but it is having negative reviews on stiffness.
