YOKOHAMA Avid Ascend GT rises again ...

Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady II is a GREAT tire for the cost, waiting for black friday sales and try your luck on Tirerack.com

I've been more than happy with the Ascend GT's on my Accord especially considering what little I paid for them about five years ago (135$/each from Amazon), but I'm on the lookout for something a little more sporty for next time.

I assume the first gen WeatherReady will be phased out.
Recently T.R. had W.R. discounted and 2 discounts from GOODYEAR which hints at them being dropped . Wish they'd let some tires be . Miss the GENERAL Altimax RT43 ( H ) that were used for 3 or 4 of our vehicles at around 10 years . Seen the RT45 on display at Walmart and doesn't look as impressive as the 43 .

Considering the GTs' again .

I have them as OE tires on a 2024 Rav4 Prime XSE. I have a total of 14,000+ miles on them with 6/32nds " and love them for a summer all-season tire. I don't use them up North for the winter and prefer Michelin XIce Snows for that. We had 2 inches of rain in 30 mins the other day and I was able to confidently overtake a semi that was doing 80 in a 70MPH stretch of highway. I could see the area of pooling water that the tires just didn't care and I felt no hydroplaning. For the wet traction I am a believer and the summer traction is sticky as it should be. Quiet tire overall. My next summer tire set will be Bridgestone Potenza AS.

When it comes to Potenza AS, how important is to you tire comfort? Potenza in general is very, very stiff tire.

I drive the 2024 Rav4 Prime XSE like it's a Corolla GR most days of the week so I would have to say tire comfort is not that important. My priority would be summer traction in dry and wet conditions.

Michelin Pilot A/S4 or Continental Extreme Contact DWS06+.
These are all performance AS tires like Potenza, but generally, Michelin and Continental have better-balanced performance. DWS is probably best in wet, but it is also most comfortable which results in mushy steering feel. I have them on BMW, and they are, by all means, an exceptional performance tire, you just need to keep pressure bit up. I think Michelin is between Potenza and DWS06, best balanced performer.

I had potenza all-season on my Lexus Gs with smaller 17” wheels and they were fabulous. I tried DWS06 which I reallyyyy liked but they were indeed a little squishy in that configuration, enough that it had no on-center feel. The softer-tread potenza is a great UHP, IMO.

Current Potenza or previous versions. I had previous versions, and while stiff, like all Bridgestone tires, they were not excessively stiff. Current generation seems to push that envelope more than previous ones. I personally like a lot of feedback. I think it depends. On RAV4 there is more sidewall than on my BMW (225/40 R18) so it might be ok.
