What type of specs does the Yamalube have?

My brother has a GP1200R and our dad has an outboard Yamaha Saltwater Series 200 hp motor.

The both use TWC3 as far as I know.

The other day while at my brother's house I see some W2 in the garage. I asked him why aren't they using the TWC3 type he told me I had to buy last summer when I would borrow the Waverunner.

What's W2?

All I remember was that the TWC3 I bought last summer was synthetic blend according to the Yamaha dealer.

Is this W2 new? Is it as good?

I only ask because I will probably but the Waverunner this coming summer from him and I want to make sure he is using the right stuff.

I saw TWC3 at WalMart by SuperTech. But it was way cheaper than what I remember paying for the Yamalube.

Do you mean TCW-3 versus TCW-2?
If thats what you mean the TCW-2 is an older inferior oil compared to TCW-3.

Not recommended for WaveRunner or Sport Boats.

I read this off the link.

I think I figured out what he had.

yamalube 2W

Yamalube 2-W was designed to provide Yamaha owners with precision-blended oil for their WaveRunner and Sport Boat engines. Using other oils can cause serious damage to the catalytic converter

I think this is TWC-3 replacement.
