My Mother's basement.
Should be ok in my trusty Echo and Sthil stuff.
I hope.

Whoa, that's got me thinking.

What's the purpose of the oil in 2 stroke fuel? I thought that in addition to lubricating, it got combusted, and that was how a 2-stroke engine worked.

Is there any advantage to using a synthetic oil in a 2 stroke engine?

Should you use the same ratio of 2 stroke oil/gasoline as with "conventional" 2 stroke oil? [Whatever "conventional" 2 stroke oil is?]

Please enlighten me.

The XD100 is an Evinrude oil that is sold as the premium oil to use in their outboard oil injection systems. Newer Evinrudes with oil injection allow you to choose the amount of oil injected, and if you are using the XD100 oil, Evinrude says you can use it at 100:1. If using regular TC-W3 oil, you're supposed to switch the injection rate to 50:1.

When I looked at the bottle of this stuff, I don't see any certifications on it, BTW.

Use it. That oil is robust enough for a very expensive high horsepower outboard that is direct injected then using it in OPE is not even taxing that oil.
Just mix it at your equipment's recommended mix ratio.
I've been using Klotz snowmobile oil for several years now in my OPE, zero issues and it smells nice. Used to use it in my old 2 stroke 800 SeaDoo for years also, sold it running just fine.

I found some information on the Net about this oil, which is designed for the Evinrude E-Tec oil injection boat engine.
To me it looks too thin and with very low flash point for OPE, but if you run it at 25:1 it should be fine.
Let the more knowledge people who used it to tell.

A thread on here from 2016

"I own an E-Tec outboard and use XD100 - you should be aware that this is not a TCW-3 rated oil - it's use is intended for direct injection or oil injected outboard engines. It is very light weight. Evinrude does not recommend that XD100 is used in a pre-mix environment. Evinrude sells two TCW-3 rated oils that can be used for premixed applications XD-50 and XD30."
